The Weight of Chains
Every soul who enters the Exiled Lands arrives in chains.
Some bear iron at their wrists. Others carry older burdens, an oath betrayed, a kingdom lost, a debt unpaid, or a name they can no longer safely claim. The Exiled Lands makes little distinction between them. Noble and outcast alike must fight for water, shelter, and the right to see another dawn.
Yet survival is only the beginning.
Season 1 - The Wardens
Throughout the Exiled Lands, there are stone tablets, journals and fragments of knowledge that tell how these lands came to be. They speak of the Giant-Kings and the Lemurians, of their collapse, and of the eventual acquisition of the lands by the sorcerer Thoth-Amon, who transformed them into what they are today, a prison for outcasts, criminals and those whom their enemies wished to keep from the world.
The story is out there for Exiles to discover.
Yet there is something these tablets and tomes do not speak of.
The Wardens.
Powerful individuals who appear to be as old as the prison system established by Thoth-Amon himself.
Their purpose was to observe the condemned, catalogue whatever they uncovered and contain whatever should never pass beyond the ghost wall. Some claim that Thoth-Amon installed the Wardens himself. Others insist that the rulers who fed prisoners into the Exiled Lands demanded watchers of their own.
The truth, however, has been buried beneath generations of secrecy, altered records and deliberate lies.
What is known is that three offices were established.
The Scarlet Gallery - Warden Severian Vhal
The Iron Ledger - Warden Maedra Kain
The Veiled Lantern - Warden Ossian Demeus
Beyond the reach of most Exiles, hidden within sealed towers, forgotten arenas and galleries buried beneath the land, the Wardens still watch.
None know how these seemingly human figures have held onto their mortal coils for so long. Their laws, however, remain absolute. Their purpose is rigid, and their grip is as strong as the bracelet upon an Exile’s wrist.
Will you stand beside a Warden, or refuse their cause? Will you raise the torch as champion of one of these offices, or seize the flame and burn them all to ash?
What say you?
